Presenting a Story Board

Generally, the process for presenting a Story Board goes something like...

  1. Thoroughly celebrate any progress shown through the PP, or in the case of first surveys, the strengths that have appeared.
  2. When the audience is ready to look at the next steps for growth, bring up each question on your Story Board slowly one at a time.
  3. Before putting up your suggested heading, ask the audience to discuss what story they see in the responses. Allow plenty of time for this as the their conclusions are very important for the sake of their church.
  4. Get them to share what story they think it tells, reminding them there is no absolutely correct summary. Encourage them to be creative about their descriptions.
  5. After they have shared their summaries, bring up your suggested heading and then invite further feedback.
  6. Write down all of the suggested summaries on the 'repentance' list in the NCD Survey Workbook.
  7. If they 'get' the story (which they usually do because they're living it) and have made a list of summary statements, move them onto the plan stage of the cycle where they will determine simple, obvious, personalised steps that would change the story for the better.
  8. Complete the rest of the NCD Survey Workbook process.
