We have just done the 3 colours spiritual style test, and our group is doing the 28 days of discipline.
I think the Motto: "resting in the presence of God" is not quite correct, rather I feel it should be "be still and know that I am God". Its only in stillness that we can "hear" God and its our feelings that tell us we are close.
While I think of myself as being "Rational", indeed it is my No. 3 style, just a few points down the list from Mystical; and I would be disappointed if I did not have an emotional reaction to the presence of God while attending church (or anywhere else for that matter). For the Mystical style, God talks/touches to us through our feelings.
I agree with other Mystical's that limiting spirituality to a Christian only basis is an artificial constraint. This is not a denial of God, Rather it is a desire to seek the kingdom of God, acknowledging that "there are many rooms in my Father's house"..
Those who practice TM ie meditation understand it takes time, and with practice you get better at it. You learn to clear your thoughts so you can enter into that still place. And there are health side-benefits, lower blood pressure, higher immunity etc we are indeed blessed. So I believe it is, with the Mystical style. You do the process and see what happens. And you do get better at it. It's not about worshipping your feelings, rather its about leveraging them. Using your "talents" to the your advantage, whatever your style may be..
Our feelings mediate our relationships with one another. And we all know decisions are made at an emotional level, and then we try and back it up with logic! And so it is (for us Mystics anyway) with God (and Christ).
peace
