Meet Bert

Chief Missionary

Bert is chief missionary at ncd.life, helping us find new contacts and establish the work of NCD in new countries around the world.

What a fitting title! As Chief Missionary, Bert is the essential link, liaising across every level. He connects on-the-ground National Partners with NCD Life and brings new communities and countries into the fold. Bert bridges gaps, fostering connections so the NCD Life community can grow and flourish. Known as a builder of lasting connections and a steward of genuine relationships, Bert thrives in his role, bringing people together with purpose. His unwavering faith and dedication to growth—within the church, communities, and individual character—make him an invaluable part of the NCD Life team. In the spirit of the eight characteristics let Bert share 8 short personal facts about himself that may (or may not) surprise you:

  1. First things first: God is my firm foundation. I love Him and enjoy serving in His worldwide kingdom as He opens doors for ministry.

  2. I also love people, and enjoy relationships with people I meet in other nations. As NCD missionary I had the privilege to do work in various countries in the last 25 years.

  3. Since 1978, I am married to my wife Sonja. Together we have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. One daughter resides in New Zealand, while our other children live in Germany.

  4. I am a visual communicator and I love good design. You will discover these traits in the presentations I develop & use for training.

  5. Since the age of 10, I follow the footsteps of my father, who was a passionate photographer. If you take me out for a walk, you may need to have extra patience since you find me looking for new and interesting motifs along the walkway.

  6. At a bible seminary, I enjoy teaching the subject “church health and church growth”. I love to explore and teach about different models of churches one can discover globally.

  7. I enjoy sharing the Good News with people, as the Holy Spirit guides. I love to pray, especially for people not walking with Christ yet, or Christians with special needs. I love to encourage others.

  8. I thank God for the rich life experiences I have gained. My passion is to serve others and empower them for ministry.
