hat is an idol? When hearing this term, many people think of a pagan statue made of stone or wood. Others think of the idol of money, that has brought so many people under its spell, especially in the Western world. Some call to mind the idol of sex. The idol of power. The idol of science. The idol of one‘s political party. The idol of one‘s nation. It is true that all of these things can become idols for us. An idol is something that takes the place of God in our lives.
