Hey everybody I was reading the other day in 1 john 5:3 "Loving God means keeping his commandments, and really, that isn't difficult.” When I first read this I thought, "what the heck was this guy smoking.”
But as I started to write what I was thinking God showed me a deeper understanding of how we are supposed to grow. It kind of relates to stewardship of the love that we are able to show. "Keeping His commandments” can be summed up in showing love to God and people, in a full expression and replicating all the facets of His perfect love. (Matt 22:37-39)
Crikey so how do we do that and how is it supposed to be easy. Now is where the stewardship part comes into it. I figured that God would not ask us to do something that is not possible for us. So for us we are able and have to show His love 100% of the time and to 100% of our ability. This is not a cop out. To say that we have done as much as we can, as this is still nowhere near the full extent of Gods love. Yes we should be doing as much as we can to show Gods love and by doing this then God will be able to extend our 100% to 110% therefore making our ability to love larger.
So to summarise, keeping Gods commandments, that is showing perfect love, is achievable, if we are faithful with the amount of love that we are able to show now.
