Most experienced NCD coaches have said to a church at some point that, "NCD is a process, not a program." While this emphasis is correct, it is helpful at a certain level that churches "program" some activities into that process to help it keep going. One of those things is their next survey.

If a church has completed a survey, understood the results and begun taking some action steps, then a very important step for them to schedule in is when they intend to repeat the survey to check on their progress and adjust their strategy. So, when action plans are underway, be sure to at least ask the question of when they intend to repeat the survey. Circumstances may mean that timing will need to be changed. However, with that date noted down, you have a good reason to check back with them at that time and ask whether they are still on track to repeat the survey.
