Empowering Leadership (EL) and Need-Oriented Evangelism (NOE) are the two Qaulity Characteristics (QCs) which I often lack to have enthusiasm for especially when it comes to me personally contributing something in these areas for the positive growth of my Church. I don't have leadership and evangelism in my "gift mix”, and together with a lack of NCD knowledge, it was little wonder that a while back I ended up concluding there was no point to even thinking about them. Thankfully, since then, God has shown me ways in which I can contribute to these QCs without "cheating” on my "gift test”!!!  Through simply living my daily life as a Christian in this broken world & also the heart I have to see my unsaved family and friends know God are two things I can contribute to NOE. With EL, I am an Effective Structures (ES) Consultant at my Church and although we have an ES Coach who leads our team I am in turn a leader to the people I consult. They look to me for empowerment as we work together to improve the structure of their specific area.   ÂÂ
I have come to realize the extent of how much these 8 QCs are interconnected and that it is true – there are at least eight keys not just one (see CYW book page 104). You need to not make the mistake I originally did of neglecting one or two of them and thinking you can only contribute to the rest. I believe every one of us can contribute to ALL 8 QCs in some way. Certainly your personal contribution amount will vary for each QC and to that of another person's contribution (see Romans 12:4-6a) yet we can definitely have an impact in each QC. After all, God is "calling out the artists of life” to color our world and I'm sure we all want to do the best job we can with ALL the colors (QCs) available to us!!!
